Welcome to Craidd, a blog about a mid-westerner who has suddenly found himself in mid-Wales. I am a 30-something Illinoisan who, after college, moved to both coasts of the United States before jumping the pond to Wales. I offer this blog as a means to keep up with friends old and new, serve as an ambassador from the America that isn’t always shown in movies, and provide a guide for dealing with our American cousins.

What is Craidd? Craidd is the Welsh (Cymraeg) word for “middle” or “center”.  I adopted the name for this blog to highlight both where I am from and where I am.  It should become clearer through the blog that mid-westerners try to keep a centered outlook on life.
